If These Walls Could Talk 2
Originally an HBO drama.
A trio of stories about lesbian couples in three different decades. This is a
semi-followup of the first "If These Walls Could Talk," with three segments set in the same house, but with different occupants, spanning nearly 40 years. While the first film dealt with women and the topic of abortion, this drama deals with women and lesbianism.
"1961" - When Abby dies of a stroke, her surviving partner of 50 years, Edith, must silently face heartbreak and the
denial of her status as "family" by the hospital and Abby's heirs.
"1972" - Linda, a feminist, out, college student is ousted, along with her lesbian cohorts, from the on-campus women's
group: the cause of feminism comes first, apparently. In an attempt to forget their troubles, the friends go to the only lesbian bar in town, where Linda meets Amy, who is too butch to muster approval with Linda's friends. Intrigued, in
spite of her buddies, Linda comes to understand and fall in love with Amy, while learning about her own
predjudices.
"2000" - Fran and Kal want to have a baby. But they want the baby to be theirs and theirs alone, so to the sperm bank
they go. But the decisions to be made! Ordering over the Internet? Which donor? What race? What gender? And what
if the sperm bank is out of that??? |

In the City
From acclaimed Spanish director, Cesc Gay comes a cosmopolitan drama about three very close friends. . . their men. .
. their other men. . . and their other women.

Brendemuhl) is having a secret affair with one of his 16 year-old students. And married Irene (Monica Lopez) finds
herself attracted to her female friend Silvia (Aurea Marquez). Vibrant and sophisticated, In the City is a deeply moving drama about intimacy, secrets and how frequently we fail to communicate with one another. In The City unfolds a freshly observed ensemble story of a group of thirty-something
friends in Barcelona. They have many secrets they keep – from each other. . . and from
themselves. Director Cesc Gay’s idea for In the City came to him at a meal with friends: a private, secret look at a group of
characters who have a number of emotional experiences they never talk about. |

Garret) the snobby little town of Azalea Springs is up in arms. Alongside the

discovers her friend's secret. Kiran fears that this will end their
friendship, but Delilah thrills her by confessing similar feelings. They

Key West: City of Colors
A modern Venice, the city of Key West models the vision of diversity. Showing the power of cultures coming together
to make the individual pieces stronger. As they prepare for the 25th anniversary of the original Rainbow Flag, city
officials bring their concept for the Sea-to-Sea flag to the originator of the Rainbow, Gilbert Baker. Gilbert's
construction of this 8,000 foot, 3 ton, Rainbow Flag becomes the metaphor for both the community and diversity itself.
The documentary tells the stories of struggle, heartbreak and triumph as it weaves together a lesson relevant to
companies and communities all over the world.
Key West, Florida, is both the beginning of the world and the end of the road. Whatever your choice may be, the gay
flag and the people who celebrate it see Key West as home--a place where they are judged not by what they earn or
who they "are", but but what is in their hearts. |

Killing Of Sister George The
Beryl Reid, Susannah York, and Coral Browne star in the lesbian classic that must be seen to be believed. Lurid,
sensational and disturbing this is one of the earliest screen portrayals of lesbians and was famously advertised as a
look at: "Three consenting adults... In the privacy of their own home."
Director Robert Aldrich turns up the heat in this steamy, provocative and "expertly executed movie" (Los Angeles
Times) starring Beryl Reid and Susannah York. Sexy, "sensitive [and] darkly humorous"
(Boxoffice), The Killing of Sister George is a racy romp that's "entertaining" (Leonard
Maltin), "explicit and sensational" (Life).
June (Reid) is the star of a TV soap opera star - and she has the ego to prove it. But when she begins to suspect that
the network is planning to kill off her character - and that her boss (Coral Browne as the quintessential predatory dyke)
is out to seduce her beautiful young lover (York) - June spirals out of control. As she's
transformed from demanding diva into hair-trigger harridan, TV's grandest of dames proves that underneath it all, she ain't no lady. |

Simon, 18, scratches out a living unloading crates in the farmers' market.
Noemie, 16, attends school and helps her father in his neighborhood bar. One day, their eyes meet, they share a few words, but circumstances conspire to keep
them from realizing their love. When Simon's boss presents him the opportunity to earn some extra money by illicit means, Simon hesitantly says yes.
But the simple heist goes horribly wrong, and a policeman is shot. Simon escapes and tells Noemie he must flee the city
at once. Hell-bent on accompanying him, Noemie steals her father's Mercedes. Now on the run in a stolen car, with the
police on their trail, Simon and Noemie can finally be together. Is it just clandestine teenage romance, or the start of
something more meaningful? Can they run forever, or will the law catch up with them?
In the role of impassioned, working-class Simon is rising star Nicolas Cazalé, who gives the highlight performance in
Gaël Morel's Three Dancing Slaves. Ernest Hardy of the LA Weekly writes of his performance in that film: "As Marc,
the drug-snorting . middle brother, Nicolas Cazalé sneers, grimaces and flexes his taut six-pack like a fashion model
gone haywire." |

Laurel Canyon
When straight-laced couple Sam (Christian Bale) and Alex (Kate Beckinsale) move to California to pursue their
studies, they unexpectedly find themselves sharing a house with Sam's hedonistic record producing mother Jane
(Frances McDormand), and trouble ensues. Directed by Lisa Cholodenko, her first feature, the acclaimed High Art, told of a young woman who was seduced away
from her straight-and-narrow path. It's a theme Cholodenko spins quite well once again in Laurel Canyon. It's quite obvious from the very outset that Beckinsale's pretty but uptight dissertation-writing character will spiral into some
form of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll (or all three!), but the ride to that inevitable end is so lively and diverting that it
doesn't matter if there aren't many surprises in store. The fabulous ensemble of players does a fine job of bringing writer/director Cholodenko's story to life, particularly the
always-fine McDormand as an aging party girl and record producer who has no problem taking on a lover half her age.
Starring Frances McDormand (The Man Who Wasn't There), Christian Bale (American Psycho), Kate Beckinsale
(Serendipity), Natascha McElhone (Killing Me Softly), and Alessandro Nivola (Face/Off). |
