It's time to see a different kind of lesbian website - one not filled with pictures of European lesbians who look like they're trying too hard to look different. They just end up looking like the rest of everybody else who's trying to look different. We here at SistersTalk.com saw a need for change - a definite need for a more accurate representation of the lesbian community. We are Black; We are Latina; We are Asian; We are Jewish; We are Italian; We are Croatian; We are fat; We are skinny; and we definitely listen to something other than Ani Difranco and Melissa Etheridge. We want to know about something other than the Michigan Womyn's music festival. We live diverse and varied lives and we want to meet others like ourselves. We're tired of visiting lesbian websites that do nothing more than mimic the heterosexual culture of blonde is beautiful and skinny is even better. SistersTalk.com won't claim to represent the lesbian community; however, we hope to do an excellent job of showing the diversity of the women in it.
